About the job: Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as an Espey Electronics Engineering Technician, where you will be part of a team crafting transformers & power supplies destined for military and industrial products. The Electronics Engineering Technician is responsible for the layout, build, test, troubleshooting, repair and modification of developmental and production electronic components and systems. Electronics Engineering Technician Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

· Assemble and test prototype and production components, breadboard circuits, power supplies and electronic equipment

· Build breadboard circuits from schematics.

· Troubleshoot and repair power supplies and electronic equipment including development units and customer field returns

· Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance

· Document schematic and assembly drawing changes for review and processing as official Engineering Change Notices.

· Record test data per engineering instruction or documented test procedures

· Record data on data sheets, create reports and communicate with engineering to resolve non-compliant conditions

· Work with programmable data acquisition systems, PC based Data Logging and programmable power supplies and load banks

· Set up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model

· Analyze and interpret test data

· Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.

· Provide Testability/Manufacturability feedback to engineering

· Discuss layout and assembly procedures and problems with Electronics Engineer and draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units

· Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance

· Troubleshoot difficult or obscure problems & advise supervisory personnel on recommended resolution

· Stay abreast of all the latest ISO procedures within the Engineering Dept., as applicable.

· Work closely with other mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, laboratory technicians, mechanical draftsmen, and factory personnel to assist in building of prototypes

Required Qualifications:

· Education & experience qualifications in any combination of:

. High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum 2 years’ experience as an engineering lab or electronics technician in an industrial setting, or

. High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years’ experience as a Navy Nuclear Electronics Technician, or

. Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with minimum of 1 year experience as an engineering lab or electronics technician in an industrial setting

· Essential Functions include: frequently required to sit, talk, & hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift up to 10 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

· Minimum 2 years’ experience working with analog and digital measurement equipment to test and troubleshoot power supplies and other electronic assemblies

· Minimum 2 years’ experience working with electronic components, such as capacitors, resistors, semiconductor devices and assemblies used in electronic equipment.

· Experience with electronic test and troubleshooting skills

· Electronics assembly and repair skills required

· Computer skills should include use/knowledge of Auto CAD, Solid Works, MS Office and Mechanical Design of Printed Circuit Board (PCB), Enclosures and Electronic Enclosures.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, drawings and prints, and governmental regulations.

· Knowledge of mechanical & electrical engineering practices

· Experience in working in manufacturing or production environments

· Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

· Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with coworkers and supervisors.

· Experience with magnetics, transformers, inductors, or MILSPEC products for airborne, ground mobile, or Naval applications

· Familiarity with EPICOR and CRM software, as well as Microsoft Suite of Products.

· Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and experience with military standards such as MIL-E-917

· Comfortable navigating complexity and troubleshooting unique problems; requires attention to detail, critical thinking, innovation, determination & resilience, and cross-functional partnerships

· Competencies include project management, independence balanced with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, bias for action, creativity, engineering prowess, & strong written and verbal             communication skills
